
Objective
- To share the latest technologies and industry trends and educational strategies in robotics, especially in Asia.
Background
- In recent years, educational robot industry has been rapidly growing. The IROC International Educational Robot Fair 2009 is the first exhibition specialized for educational robots in support of the IROC international network.
- ISRE 2009 will provide both developers and educators with a forum to share their views and technologies, and broaden their scopes in the robot education. Over 50 companies are expected to participate this year.
Robot Workshop for Children of Southeast Asia
Objective
- To introduce new way of learning Sciences though robots to children of Asia.
Background
- IROC has been running robot competition for young children since 1999. Since then, every year there have been more than 50,000 participants worldwide to take part in international competition, “IRO”. IRO has been a place for the young children to share their dreams to become robotics scientist and making friends around the world.
- For some children in Asia, adopting the new method of leaning with robot is very limited. IROC would like to provide opportunities to those children to experience the new technologies and make new friends though robot school.
- These activities, pursued on a platform of South-South cooperation and triangular (North-South-South) cooperation, raise awareness of the importance of interactive Science and Technology education and development of hands-on science curricula in the formal education system in the Southeast Asia Region.
