Prof. Changjiu Zhou

Dr. Changjiu Zhou earned his PhD in control engineering from Dalian Maritime University, China in 1997, and his BEng and MEng degrees in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Jilin University (formerly Jilin University of Technology), China in 1985 and 1988, respectively.

Dr. Zhou has been teaching in the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Singapore Polytechnic since 1996. He is currently leading a research group working on intelligent robotic systems in general and soccer-playing humanoid robots in particular (http://www.robo-erectus.org). He also holds additional appointment as Guest Professor at Dalian Maritime University and Visiting Professor at Polytechnic University of Madrid. Before joined Singapore Polytechnic, he was an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Dalian Railway Institute, China.

His current research interests include intelligent robotic systems, soft computing, humanoid robotics, robot-soccer systems, machine learning, intelligent control and data fusion. He has about 100 research publications including 2 edited-books published by Springer.

Dr. Zhou is a member of the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society. He has served as Guest Editor for 4 journal special issues including International Journal of Intelligent Automation and Soft Computing, International Journal of Intelligent Systems and International Journal of Fuzzy Sets and Systems. He has also served as Co-Chairman, International Program Committee Member, and invited speaker for several international conferences.
